Ok, I'm also feeling half stupid now. I notice that logging in wants your email address not the username that you set up. I'm on a Mac so Safari had saved the username and password combination so that's what was being entered into the login fields. Seems a little strange to set up a username but not use it for logging in. It wasn't intuitive to realize it was asking for email to log in. As UX, it wasn't what was expected considering the flow as you set up a username so you expect to log in with a username. So since I didn't notice that it said 'email address' on the login field, I feel half stupid, but the other half is whomever was over UX design because that was not the expected behavior. Should be able to login with either username or email.
