Bad Gateway Error Switching Protean Template

I have an issue that only appears for logged in users; guests don't have any issues, when switching the Protean template. It appears to be tied to the mix because if I don't specific a mix, the template will switch without generating an error. What is different on switching templates logged in versus not logged in? I would really like to track this issue down.

      Couldn't reproduce it from my side. Did you try to check it under other accounts? What do you see in your access_log and error_log of your server?
