Change Apps for mods that are no longer active

Ethical question. Is it OK to allow a developer to work on apps that have their developers no longer active on here? There are a couple crucial apps that can't be updated because their developers haven't been active for over 6 months. Would it be allowed to have these apps worked on by other developers?

    • Whether a developer is active or not, I do not know of any ethical issue with allowing someone else to work on a module, once you purchased a license for use and the code is open source. The only caveat is that you sort of invalidate future support from the original developer.

      • I think that if a developer fails to provide support or respond then he has abandoned the work and why should the license holder expect any future support therefore the license holder has every right to do whatever they want ethically. Developers who abandon license holders and fail to provide support without notice are the most unethical people on the planet and the cause of huge expenses to the victims of the developer's failed business model. What do you think?

        • Think you can use old version una to work with it. And wait new developer make new module with the same functionality.
