Email notifications when someone sends Messenger

Hello,

I noticed that if I disable Receive Newsletters in Email Settings, I stop receiving Messenger message notifications. Is this how it's supposed to work? I'm not entirely clear on what Receive Site Updates includes and what Receive Newsletters includes, even though it seems obvious.

      The Receive Newsletters option is responsible for the "site news" like the admin's massmailer messages. The Receive Site Updates option provides the possibility to get the notifications about the "users activity" like a new message arrival too.

        Thanks @LeonidS, that's what I thought. I don't know why Receive Newsletters on my site affects Messenger messages, and whether Mailjet (the email service I use) has anything to do with it.

        I'll keep an eye out.
