Error with Editing Cover Images with Icon does not update image on timeline feed

If we change the cover image using the icon on the top left corner, then that image change doesn't get registered on the Timeline feed. But if we use the View Actions Buttons -> EDIT PROFILE -> and change the cover image, then it registers and makes the changes on the Timeline feed. While this error gets fixed, is there a way to remove this icon?
