Group ownership change instead of deletion

Hey,

we are running a few una instances and in one we have this problem:

  1. Account A created a group and others joined and posted content.
  2. Account A deletes his profile
  3. Profile of account B gets promoted as group admin
  4. Account A got deleted -> Also the group got deleted and all posted content

I understand that the accounts still has the ownership of the group, but when this person leaves a group he/she don't want to have anything to do with it.

So in my opinion there are three ways how this problem can be solved:

  • When an Account gets deleted the group ownership is transferred to a specific account (defined in the settings)
  • The owner can not leave a group when there is no other admin (profile) defined who's account takes the ownership
  • It is possible to transfer the ownership, what is the worst solution, because many users will not understand the difference between admin and owner

What do you think about this problem and the solution options?

    • If Account A is the only admin, Account A should be presented with the opportunity to appoint another Admin who will take ownership; otherwise, the group and all content will be deleted.

      If there is another Admin, he can just leave the group. So, actually, a user should not be able to delete their profile while they are the only admin of any group.
