How can I add my country currency

How can I add my country currency to the currencies and make it default and also make it show on the check out, I'm using PayPal.. I have tried adding a new currency at data fields, made it default but it's not showing on the check out settings part. And also edit the exchange rate so it will charge members in my default currency value and not as dollar
