How To Uninstall An App or Module
This has been a recurring need and feel it's good to make it clearer.
To uninstall any unwanted App follow this steps. Details for V12 starts from STEP 7
STEP 1-6 FOR V9 - V11.
STEP 1
Go to Studio. You see all Apps,
Select that which you desire to uninstall.
STEP 2.
The App MUST first be deactivated or disabled before it can be uninstalled as designed.
The App control page opens as below> Click the Settings Icon.
The deactivation dialog with come up as below
Deactivate.
Everything on this page disappears leaving only the top icons.
STEP 3.
Return to Studio.
You will observe the deactivated App Icon goes dull.
STEP 4.
FOR VERSION 9.0 +
Check the top left corner as shown below. Click on the marked icon.
FOR VERSION 10.0 +
Check the Top Right side as shown below. Click on the pointed icon.
Then an X appears on the Deactivated Icon as below.
STEP 5.
Click the X, then you will see as below.
Then do as your spirit leads.
In this same situation, besides deleting, you can decide to rearrange your App Icons if desired based on colors. They are movable.
STEP 6.
Undo your STEP 4 using the same Top left for 9.0+ and Top Right for 10.0+ to return App window to normal.
STEP 7 FOR VERSION 12.X.X
Follow the Studio link to the "Launcher" panel as seen below.
Tap or Click on the User icon on the far right as pointed with the arrow. This will display a set of links where you see "Manage Apps"
Tap or Click on Manage Apps. Then all Apps will display a "Settings" button as shown in STEP 8.
NOTE: Manage Apps link will only be seen if you are on the Main Studio page, the "LAUNCHER"
STEP 8
Tap or Click on the Settings button for the activation/Deactivation link to displayed and click on the "Active" link for it to switch to "Inactive"
An App must first be deactivated before it can be deleted. Also note that any App that you delete will lose all contents on your website that is dependent on it and cannot be recovered.
As an App is deactivated, it automatically changes appearance to a dull gray color with an "X" icon appearing next to the initial (Star) "Settings" button.
STEP 9
Click or Tap the "X" button to delete, and confirm your desired action as the confirmation dialog box pops up. Remember it is irreversible.
Finally, return to STEP 7 to click on the "Manage Apps" link AGAIN, to return all Apps to their normal state.
There is another way to initiate delete from the individual App page, but this is the shortest.
If any part of this procedure is not clear, please let know.

It would also be nice to be able to reinstall a module without losing the data. True, you can save your database but how do you merge or recover the old data???
-
That will be something to figure out by the development team.. i believe if the data is backed up before uninstalling, there could be a way to restore it.
However, if you know a module will still be needed, it's advisable to only disable and not uninstall. You will be able to have your contents showing anytime you reactivate it.
