Messenger Useless
We installed Messenger awhile ago. 4 months to be exact. It's integration is useless. Our Jitsi Meet application works perfectly outside of UNA CMS. It's integration in UNA CMS makes it unusable. A list of the issues
- Initial Connectivity between members suffers significant lags
- The Messenger displays a spinning wheel constantly
- Mobile use delivers a screeching microphone
- Audio desktop to desktop on windows in chrome browser has significant delays
- Screen sharing lags are at least 30 seconds
- on Mac in the Safari Browser, the member cannot hear other members audio.
- on Mac, chrome browser disables audio altogether
- Regardless of the device (desktop, laptop, mobile) microphone is noisy warning message appears.
As the Jitsi Meet software works perfectly outside of UNA CMS, the only culprit that we can identify is the required use of the JOT server to integrate. As this requirement is unique to the UNACMS, has UNA taken steps to fix their JOT software integration?

Hello,
We're sorry to hear you've encountered these issues. We've carefully reviewed your report, and from what you've described, it appears that the problems are not directly related to the Messenger module or the Jot Server.
Please note that the Jot Server is responsible solely for updating the text chat in real-time. It does not interact with the Jitsi Meet components in any way and has no impact on video or audio communication.
When you open a video call in Messenger, an iframe loads the Jitsi interface, and all communication happens either directly between clients or through the Jitsi server — meaning that Messenger and the Jot Server are not involved in the connection process.
The only possible indirect issue might be if something in your environment is blocking or interfering with the Messenger module, which could also affect the messaging functionality.
Could you please confirm whether your Jot Server is functioning properly? Are messages being delivered in real-time? If you're seeing a “connecting…” status in the chat window, this usually indicates that the Jot Server is either not installed correctly or not running, which can cause message delivery failures.

@Alexey Just saw this reply. What we have is a continuous spinning wheel when connecting to a mobile device user. As you installed the jot server and Igor migrated it to our new server, our guess is it should be working correctly. This week we did a new installation of Jitsi on a new server and the same issues exist as noted above. And, these issues do not exist when use Jitsi outside Messenger. We have touched the Jot Server configuration other than this week pointing to the new domain. As far as message delivery, it is being delivered in real-time. As our Jitsi is working as intended without performance issues outside of Messenger, where would you suggest we look to discover the configuration compatibility issue?

@Alexey any feedback on my question regarding where would you suggest we look to discover the configuration compatibility issue?
