Subspaces

How many levels down can spaces go. I am having a problem in more than 2 because down, the pulldown list does not include all available spaces to choose from and will not take a manual entry even if the space exists. Example US>regional>state>city. I this is possible there is bug that is not allowing me to do so or can we only nest 1 level subspace for every space?
