What is the ideal setting of timeline module?

I noted that the behavior of the timeline module (and hence the site in general) can change based on the number of items you choose in the setting portion (See example below). The behavior differences were noted in two things:

1. the speed of loading of home page in the mobile app. This can vary significantly, depends upon the numbers entered in the setting portion.
2. the ability of the button "load more to load more items may or may not work.
