In the DB, do the sys_ tables belong to UNA? I have some WP tables in the same DB and just wanted to make sure I could delete them without any issue.

  Yes, the core UNA tables have the sys_ prefix. You may check it here https://github.com/unaio/una/blob/master/install/sql/system.sql
