Okay I seemed to have solved the issue with the images - I had "brief cards enabled" in timeline - so I unchecked that and now images do pop up on timeline feeds. I also changed mini editor to "standard" on text boxes and now the bold, underline, and italics function! yay. Alignment does not work. As for link previews I'll have no choice but to stick with iframely as that is the only one working for me.
