I miss Dolphin. My site had over 35,000 members from all over the world. It had no support for mobile and becoming an app and I think that was the big issue but overall it had a robust marketplace. In some ways its still powerful enough to be competitive to other social networks as long as there's someone who can convert the sites into apps. UNA was meant to be geared for apps and mobile but the balance between Desktop and Mobile can get in the way because it takes away the beautification of Mobile viewing. Dolphin is great for Desktop type sites and UNA is better for Mobile sites. You are correct with how I believe UNA can become better. Staying away from enhancements until original bugs are fixed is good. Smaller faster hot fixes will help everyone to transition between updates without losing too much custom work. Mod developers will have an easier time updating also. A sandbox that is a testing site that includes all the Mods in the Marketplace will help Mod developers also. It's just really hard because alot of Mods interfere with updates and UNA developers won't know this. As the marketplace grows its going to become more harder for Mod developers to create content if it interferes with other custom mods especially if they don't have access to other custom mods.
