Hi,
we have similar problem a while ago. After I disabled the Messenger's Shoutbox on Hompage the ERROR 500 was gone. Then I updated Messenger module and the site started to work with Shoutbox block enabled on homepage.

  Well, it might have a different reason and without getting the error's code it's hard to detect what is wrong.
