I just tried to update the apps after using the _ symbol and they say that my version is not compatible. The version still says 9.0.0 in the dash.

  As @Baloo wrote you need to use https://v.una.io/ to update to 9.0.1 and then use https://v.una.io/beta/ to update to 10.0.1-B1

  You need to update to 9.0.1 first. See my posts here about how to do that.
