I have a developer question. Because having the chat on a groups page is kinda tacky, so could I not just on group creation insert a "Group Started" message into the messenger database, which would then show it in messenger? Then on join, have a message sent like "I just joined!" from that username. So they would be added to the chat? Or is it more in depth.

I have not looked at underlying code, I'm still figuring out top level things.

Also, would this require changes to core files? Or module files? Or can I plugin to them as needed? I come from a joomla background and have not really dived into the php code of UNA yet.
