Comment to 'Stream alternative like Agora.io'
    • At this time there is no alternative for users to Stream on UNA Cloud. UNA is great for niche sites and possibly large platforms in countries that don't have access to bigger platforms, but here in the U.S. Niche platforms will have a hard time competing when Facebook keeps stealing ideas with no backlash from sites that for some reason refuse to patent their ideas. If there is ever to be a variety of large platforms it has to have things that people want. Streaming is one of them. The idea to rebuke everything that is mainstream is one of the reasons why sites don't gain traction. It's kind of hard to discuss without seeming like I'm ranting but Streaming for me was a big deal. For years I even centered my site around the idea of Streaming and having users be able to create their own content that would have the community thrive. I delayed creating my site into an app until it had a Streaming service. So while Agora.io put in its user agreement that it could possibly use some content for Streaming (Not your website content) to advertise their services, every known app that uses its service has become successful. Has created users and user engagement. More users and engagement means more revenue to possibly create your own Streaming software. But until then Agora.io is the only alternative Streaming service that can do this. I have used other server services when using Dolphin and when my user base reached over 35,000 users my bandwidth was throttled to the point I couldn't keep up with server fees. I literally had to shut down a website with over 35,000 users...
    • It would be ok if they fix all bugs on the latest version and then work on the next update. I am not bashing una, they may have good plans, but you can not have a live site with bugs.

      • I agree. It's one of the main reasons why I don't have a site I've made fully public yet. I think alot of the bugs are because of constant changes made to the framework that effect all the mods. I think if UNA had a testing site that included all the mods in the market they would fully realize how many bugs they have and how each update creates more and more. Also wish they wouldn't keep adding the extra small features without creating a public list on here on what they plan on adding beforehand. Yes Facebook isn't going away for a long time for several reasons. It has stuff most sites simply don't offer that keeps users on Facebook. Events, Groups, Timeline, Live Streaming. UNA offers Events, Groups, and Timeline, but those aren't as easy to navigate, create, or join like Facebooks is. Long Fields to fill out makes alot of stuff just a distraction.

1.) Work on basic mods to make them neater, easier to look, create, join, and navigate

2.) Beautification of design layout, buttons, fonts etc

3.) User engagement and experience. Simplify stuff

4.) UNA is for mobile experience so testing should heavily rely on mobile experience and not PC viewing.
