Comment to 'Account details information should be sent AFTER email verification is done'
  • To my surprise, I realized that about 20+% of new subscribers never completed the process. I assumed that the confirmation email went to their spam box. But that is not always the case.

    Yes: "Sometimes, people don't click on the activation link in the confirmation email, because they believe that their account has already been activated."

    So, that email text needs to be improved upon. Does anyone know the name of it or how to look it up?

    Anyway, when would-be users cannot figure out what is wrong or why they cannot post or why they get the message: "spam detected", etc, - they will NOT hang around to waste any more time. Nor should they.

    • Hi @banister ! Thank you for your feedback. Plug this into Studio -> Polyglot to edit that email: _sys_et_txt_body_profile_change_status_active

      I added text on that email a while ago to ask them to check their email for confirmation, as it still wasn't verified but this statement did little to help.

      However- since I posted this, I went ahead and added a block of text on the Create Profile page itself asking users to first check for a verification email and THEN proceed to do their profile page. I've noticed since then, whoever has joined has confirmed their email. But I think it would just make a lot of sense to send the profile active letter after the verification is done.
