I think this is most convenient way to display grids on small screen. Other solutions aren't acceptable in my opinion. However I agree that we need more clear way to show that there are some content off the screen, but adding some controls there will result that we'll need to cover more content and it will show less content by default. We'll test it a bit more and see how it's going.
