Actually this method isn't very good for placing ads, this is for inserting hidden tracking codes, like google analytics.

Another way is to add pages blocks with ads, but it will add ads to some particular page only.

There is no other easy way to add ads to the site, I hope that some module will appear in the market with ads placing abilities.
