I think that with proper organization it's already possible to do what is needed, installing everything isn't good idea, you need to choose one way for posting post, one way for posting images and one way for posting video. We tried to create modules self consistent and some modules can have similar functionality, so it's better to choose one module for one purpose or configure it correctly to not confuse your users. As for Timeline - it's possible to build whole site around Timeline only actually and it needs to be configured if other modules are installed along with Timeline.
