  • The situation with older versions of modules is not as straightforward as it may seem. First, there is no automated way or manual to install modules directly outside of studio and UNA market. Second, if you do manage to update it would become a special case that may not be accounted for in future updates, license verification and compatibility checks.

Will, please let me know why not update to 11rc2 and run current modules? They are all fairly stable and you get new ones. What‘s going on with your site that it needs manual updates?

I have raised a question of preparing a 10.1 module package but immediately we saw how it can create confusion and further problems, so please let me know more context.

Andrew, you may recall that I did an upgrade to 10.0.0 and 10.1.0 and
there was corruption in the database and even with help from the UNA
team I was unable to recover. I was forced to do a complete wipe and
install of 10.1.0. My hosting company told me to make a backup first
but I foolishly went ahead with the UNA upgrade without making a backup
first. I like to stay with full releases and don't upgrade until later
when I am certain that the new release is bug free. I am running a
production site and I have been down for weeks now. I can't install any
apps/modules because they all state they are incompatible with my
version. Therefore I am dead in the water as far as rebuilding my site.
I am worried that my members will desert me if this goes on too long.
