is there a way to zoom in closer to marker so people can see where the event actually is on map and use address to open directions?

Zoom in closer where exactly? On the Locations Map page? Yes, of course. Or you're talking about static maps block provided by the UNA itself?
Also since you've mentioned Events, may be the Events Map can be useful to you.
