im actually here for a similar reason, ive been looking for a new social CMS platform, but i run an ubuntu server, and am extremely leery about putting a prebuilt executable ffmpeg binary as an EXE file without having built it myself, but furthermore because of code injection problems or buffer overruns...  because the executable is well, executable, and we all remember windows..  
why did the developers package a .exe instead of the traditional unix linux binary ?
will this even run on a linux system?
i already have ffmpeg compiled and built from source, can i just change the path in a config or something??
