A Donations module extended to other members needed

Please, could you guys consider extending the donations module to other members as well, not to restrict it to the website owner only? @Andrey Yasko @Alex T⚜️ @Anton L @LeonidS

Most of us are running commercial websites. So donating to a site with paid memberships doesn't make any sense. However we do have members who are nonprofit organizations or who are in need of some financial support or who are dedicating themself for free to help others. Those ones definately need the donations module.

This is a great feature to allow members to receive donations from other members and the donations go straight into their Stripe or Paypal account.

Also, please consider adding the following features:

  1. A 'Donate' or 'Give' button on the member's profile page (maybe next to the ''Message' or ''Follow' button).
  2. The ability to enable/disable the donations module for certain membership levels from the Permissions app.
  3. The ability for members to disable the 'Donate' button if they don't want to use it or if they don't want to display the 'Donate' button on their profile page. (Very useful: a nonprofit organization may want to use it while a business in the same membership level, may not)
  4. The ability for visitors (non-logged in users) to donate.

    • I totally agree with you @OneEagle . But do we even have a module like that yet?

      As members of this community, we really need to stick together if we want UNACMS to continue. Things seem to have slowed down a lot, and honestly, it feels like whatever’s happening behind the scenes might be pointing toward discontinuation…

      So I just want to make a heartfelt plea to management: if your focus has shifted elsewhere, please at least share some exciting updates or give us the chance to help carry your legacy forward. Even small gestures of support or guidance would mean so much to the community and keep the spirit of UNACMS alive.

        • Not the best way, but we got around this with this method, First I can not post what site we are due to the nature of our business, but here it is,,, Each user creates a product "Add product" this can be called "tip me" or donate, The prduct has the value they can set , Our "members" can do well with is, We also allow then to create a product called Amazon Gift card this links to amazon they buy the card and send the link in messages to the member of our site, this way they can have an Amazon Wish List . Just an alternative to donate in other ways and simple to do. We also have a website that sells Items in the same context as our site and they can build a wish list and gift card system on that too, I prefer this as it keeps the income coming in from that site too. Promotion is key of course we are learning all the time and it changes all the time

          • Thanks for sharing the link — I initially thought this was about raising money for the UNACMS team itself. It’s good to know the Donations app is actually a tool for communities like ours to fund our own platforms. That makes more sense, especially for non-commercial sites that need some extra support from members.

            The question now is, what is the status of it and if any funds has been raised.... We can do with a little help yes.

            • That said, I think many of us in the unacms community would also appreciate more transparency from the UNACMS team about their own funding model. It would help us understand the difference between supporting UNACMS as a company vs. using tools like this to fund our own platforms. Clear communication here could build more trust and show how donations, subscriptions, or licensing directly contribute to UNACMS’s growth.
