CRM Capability?
Hello All?! I have been unplugged for a while, have a new project, and UNA came to mind as a potential solution!
I am curious with the latest versions and various add-ons, is there a way to use UNA as a form of CRM (customer relationship management software)?
I need to have 'customer' accounts and a completely segregated 'user' base.
I want to manually connect a customer with a specific user, based on region, allowing monitored communication and file share abilities between the two individuals. I do not want to allow any accounts to be visible to each other, unless manually connected by an 'admin.'
For UNA, I know I can create different user profile levels and limit view/chat permissions but am unsure about managing down to this unique individual level. Any ideas?
There are CRM softwares out there with this ability, but it is $/user, and would be way too expensive to operate with this intention.

I could really use that!

Hello @James Cherry !
It's possible to do with some modifications in the code to hide the users with one level from users with other levels.

Thanks @LeonidS.
I would be looking to separate/hide each individual from one another, not just the user levels.
@Tim I found a opensource CRM called SuiteCRM that seems to fulfill the backend function I am looking for, but still requires a front facing website, form collection method... depending on your purpose, you may be able to join forces between your UNA site and using that kind of CRM. Unlimited users with that one, which is a rare find so far.

Anyway, James, it will require changes in the code which isn't good for future updates. I guess you need to make a separate profiles app that will use the Persons like the "parent".

Hi James - it is certainly possible to use UNA as a CRM, with the core of UNA being it's permissioning system it is possible to create whatever you require. More and more UNA is being used as a starting point for app developers creating new solutions. CRM is a very general term, from what you have described it might be possible out of the box, or as an integration with an existing CRM (we have previously integrated Salesforce) or perhaps it might need some custom development to achieve the results you require.
