Data Files

Hi all,

I'm still using the Dophin. I'm wondering whether the UNA has changed the storing of data files such as photos from storing in folders to storing in the database.

I'm assuming this is possible.

Regards.

    • Hello Kinuthia !

Yes, it has been changed seriously. If you need to migrate your data from Dolphin (photos too) then use the Dolphin migration app https://una.io/page/view-product?id=118

      • Thanks LeonidS. That is a huge improvement. I think i will seriously consider migrating to UNA very soon. Much appreciated.

        • Actually in UNA, files (photos, videos, etc) are still stored on the disk, only info associated with file is stores in the database. But the structure of folders was seriously changed. Also support for external remote storage was added, for now only S3 compatible storages are supported.

          • Okay. Would it be possible to store the data files in the database? Just a thought as this would very much reduce the disk overload especially whe you have hundrends of thousands of photos and videos.

In this case it's better to use remote storage, such as Amazon S3, which is possible with UNA
