deflate_module in Server Audit shows fail and require for it to be install

Hi Guys;

What the hell can be the problem. This afternoon PavelS fixed my HTTP ERROR 500 problem that was caused by an outdated module (Scroll To Top Lite).

Well, I later on run another Server Audit and still, deflate_module appear to be not installed. I decided to reinstall UNA and that didn't work.

So, I logged a new ticket with TMDHosting, I am under the impression that they host quite a number of UNA clients.....seems not the case, because they should have known better...just saying.

See reply below from them :

Hello,

Thank you for the update!

As documented in the ticket with ID 896870, our team has provided a comprehensive explanation confirming the presence and activation of the deflate_module on our server.

If your application still fails to detect it even after reinstallation, there is a necessity to contact its developers or maintainers for further guidance on this matter.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us again if we could be of any further assistance!

Best Regards,

Maxwell Keniston

    • O my goodness...; TMDHosting use Litespeed Webserver, I should wear my glasses more often.

I just woke up and begin to really analyze my Server Audit....never went through it properly....AND THERE I PICKED UP TMDHosting is not using the recommended webserver. They use Litespeed Webserver, and for all I care is deflate_module written for Apache Webserver.

This time around, I managed to solve my own mystery.

The question I have now and according to UNA Doc's requirements must special configuration be perform for rewrite rules. I strongly believe that TMDHosting would have taking care of that.

      • Response from TMDHosting :

        Hello,

Thank you for your patience up until now!

We have reviewed your request and would like to assure you that all modules written for Apache are fully compliant on the LiteSpeed Web Server.

In fact, LiteSpeed is a drop-in replacement for Apache Web Server where all the modules and functions of Apache are supported and new features are added.

All modules like rewrite module, deflate, etc are fully compliant and are managed in the same way, with the same rules.

As we mentioned before, a feature that is now marked as disabled for your website is not crucial and should not affect important aspects of your website.

Nevertheless in case utilizing Apache is crucial for you, from our end, we can only offer you our Standalone Solutions like VPS or DS as all our Shared Hosting Environment is based on LiteSpeed due to its pros compared to Apache.

For your convenience, we are going to leave this ticket in ACR mode, which will allow you to easily update it if you require any further assistance.

        Best Regards,
