Difference between "Popular" and "Top"

Hi everybody!!!

I have a huge doubt, what is the difference between "Top" and "Popular?

I have seen that some modules, like Discussions, Posts, and Groups, have both sections. I think that "Popular" is for the content with more user interaction, but I am not sure, I'd like to know it pleas :)

As I understand it, “popular” means the most views. But “Top,” in theory, should work like this: the more comments and reactions there are over a certain period of time, the higher the publication should be displayed.

The number of views builds the Top content. The Popular content is counted through the comments, likes, and other reactions.
