Just a question regarding the ElasticSearch app, once this is downloaded > installed, it's safe to go to studio > click on the app > manage > Type > all from drop down menu > index ??

First, you need have ElasticSearch server configured and specified in Studio > ElasticSearch > Settings. Then you can index existing content.

Are there any instructions on how to set up the server. Although I am confused about this server mystery regarding servers. I've noticed that several apps require setting up servers. I have a dedicated server, does my dedicated server need to be configured to support these apps?

You need to check particular software requirements to check if your dedicated server requirements.
For the ElasticSearch server you can download it and read installation instructions here:

User Omaticon has a suggestion to configure this module (https://una.io/view-product/elasticsearch). "Do note that the API URL in the module must be formatted as "<HTTP Protocol>://<ElasticSearch IP>:<Specified Query/Ingest Port>. An example is "https://localhost:9200".
But we could not get the module to connect to our own Redis server. Using http://<server ip>:<default port 6379> as suggested (also tried without the http:// part). We also didn't set any password for the default Redis user. Did anyone else successfully set up this module?
