How to change landing page for rocket chat + How to edit what people see in profile within Rocketchat
Hi guys...
Two items:
I want to change the design for the landing page here --> http://chat.hashtaginvesting.com/
Specifically I want change the background to a branded image.
And I want to add a line where it says "Not a member, Request an Invite" with the invite hyperlinked.
Second... Within Rocketchat, I want other members to see their UNA profiles, but I want to restrict them from seeing emails. Right now its all or nothing.

Rocket Chat is hard to configure and the download in the market is an old version. It doesn't have auto updates. As much as I want Rocket Chat to thrive it has almost no support from UNA. Not even updates. If you have an updated version you could try YouTube instructions but that's about it.

It's sooo much better for engagement though. I have it linked to Slack and I am not lieing when I say my members are much for active and chatting through their than when using Jot... Unless UNA makes their chatting capability similar to Slack/discord/rocket chat I will remain using Rocket chat.

My work just started having meetings on Slack. I really wanted the opportunity to show them Rocket Chat on my site but the version is so old, no mobile phone camera support, too hard to configure and didn't auto grab profiles...It was forcing users to create a new separate profile just for the chat. I tried asking UNA support to update to newer Rocket Chat and enable some type of instructions but no answer other than check out Github even though I don't have access to my sites server

Oh - I fixed that. The profiles are linked, I am just trying to hide emails in the profile and fix the landing page. You have to set the Outh thing. You can check out my site to see how it all works. Really good.
Literally been using it for 4 days and its completely changed how my members view the site. -
After about a year and 2000 members, people just were not sticking on JOT - even look at UNA. There group chats are just people sending random stuff, if they had a Slack style chat they would have wayyyyyy higher engagement.

I have wanted a Slack style chat and Rocket chat was supposed to be the UNA group chat but they abandoned it. Slack style chat and Live Streaming are all I need to complete my site..but no support or plans for neither. UNA is falling behind due to this I feel. People have other social media that already has the bare essentials that my site has.

To change background on
#rocketchat landing page use the following CSS:.rc-old.full-page { background-image:url(http://your-url-to-image-here); }in rocketchat admin panel > Layout > Custom CSS

Try to add this text in
#rocketchat admin > Layout > Login TermsSecond... Within Rocketchat, I want other members to see their UNA profiles, but I want to restrict them from seeing emails. Right now its all or nothing.
Try to login under normal user, it maybe email is shown for admins only.
