modzzz rss module
okay so ive got it installed, hi jerome! Jerome Mingo :) and what i am having an issue with is getting it to populate the selected categories in posts. since i dont have news or articles installed. its got a valid category and feed address and of course a title, but the spyglass for "audit" does nothing and shows a db name as tooltip. also, there are no articles in the feeds, (ive got two test feeds set up) and there are definitely articles in them..
halp? thanks :) site: mytribes.net

The importing uses the Cron Job process and will import the feeds nightly at midnight.

thank you. i am in the proces of hunting for what you named your data base (tell me please) so i can adjust these values, because i want to fork your code slightly - and set it up on its own cron script which is called to a separate process so as to not interfer with una, -- because i blog a LOT and i want timely rss pushed to my site in various post categories within say 10 minutes of me publishing it. all day, constantly - across 20 different blogs. so ..
i need this to be configurable. either you go long term and build onto the .xml panel, or i go hunting for these values in the screen shot, and just write my own version of your code, but i think it would be wayy more fun to have the rss module be given the proper attention it deserves- rss is a very very very powerful tool, and as it stands, i see fun things we can have this do :)
thanks Jerome :) -

I have sent you a response in messenger. Let's discuss there.

most excellent, thank you I will look for you there soon.

Where do you make changes to Catagories. Without a catagories list, i cant create the RSS feeds. Currently there is no Catagory list.
-
The module itself does not have Categories. It pulls the Categories from the module that the feeds are being dumped into (Posts, News or Articles). Reinstall the latest version and see if your issue is resolved.

what's on line 131 and 158?

i really dont feel like playing with sql right now, haha :) is it because i had to populate categories inside the data lists of the forms plugin for Posts to see your module? otherwise, without having bought "newz" or "articles" the rss module literally would not work without extra programming, which is hard for most people to edit a database, even if its in a soft ajax java environment, admittedly una is a bit confusing i'd rather deal with configuring flat text files, its much easier. so i can see how that may help people out as well, if that was a bit cleaner - now that my brain is thinking about your software :) -
Post in messenger the RSS feed that you are importing from so I can take a look at the structure.

read.write.as/feed
is one of them (matt has a full developer center at developer.write.as ) he uses structured json though.
slashdot.org is regular old atom 2.0 i think...
