Need advice/feedback on how to set up multi level organization

Hello,

I need some advice/feedback on how to set up the following :

- on my site I allow companies to open an "organization" page in order to create content (articles, albums, events, ...) and communicate.

- For bigger companies, they would like to have one global "company page" for corporate communication and give the ability for the "departments" to create content (articles, albums, ..) in their own name. Like that each department can communicate with its own name, and visitors will understand that it is one big company with various departments.
My questions : how should I set that up ?

1- a simple solution could be to give the ability for a department (= profil) to write articles, crete albums, ... directly on the main organization page (like a group member would do it within a group)... but I am not sure whether it is possible.

2- one solution would be to have an "organization" for the global company page and create one group for each department, where the only "members" are the departments. The departments could write articles, create albums, etc...
A question would be : how to make sure that the group content also appears in the global "organisation" page...

3- an other solution would be to use Spaces (in order to create a hierarchy of spaces and sub-spaces), but I don't like this solution because I will use the "sub spaces" ability for a very small number of companies + I am not sure if spaces are a good idea for an "organization".

4- ... other solutions ?

I hope my question is clear, thank you for your feedback.

    • Hello Miroslav !

I guess your second point is fine, just use for the "global pages" the spaces.

      • Hi Miroslav  Another solution, I think the easiest and maybe the best one, is to set up the number of organization profils an account can create (or leave it as unlimited). The main account which is the Heafquarters will create an organization profil for the Headquaters (i.e. General Motors - HQ - Detroit). Then it can create as many organazation profils as it wants for local branches (i.e. General Motors - NY City, General Motors - Atlanta, General Motors - Boston) or departments/divisions (i.e. General Motors - Financial, General Motors - Human Resources, General Motors -  Innovation & Technology etc).

The only problem is I haven't figured out how to add a person or organization as an admin to manage another person or organization profil yet. (A kinda Facebook Page Admin. In UNA, it would be a person or organization profil Admin).

I know Dolphin has a third party mod that lets members to switch to someone else account and manage it (post articles, photos, videos, events, add and delete comments etc). I wonder if its UNA version even exists.

Maybe UNA doesn't have this feature yet. LeonidS, Alex T⚜️, Anton L Please confirm. If the answer is NO, is it possible to implement this functionality as a core feature? Thanks.

        • Hello OneEagle,

"how to add a person or organization as an admin to manage another person or organization profil yet." -> According to me this is already implemented : a person can join an organization, then the organization's admin will be able to make that member an admin (in the "members" menu, you can see the list of the org's members, then you should see a button "make member" next to the member's name)

I think your idea (a main organization creates many "sub organizations") is very interesting. What I want to achieve is that when a sub organization creates an article or an event, the article and event should appear both in the "main organization" (=headquarters) page and in the sub organization's page. Do you know if it works like that ?

          Thank you

          • Hello OneEagle

I've just tested your proposal and actually there is no "hierarchy" : when an organization creates other organizations they are all at the same level. The "local branches" = "sub organization" is displayed exactly the same way as the headquarter's organization page + the local branches' articles are not displayed in the main headquarter's page.
Leonids : I have the same issue with the Spaces where all pages appear at the same level.

            Did I miss a parameter ?
So far the solution i 've thought about is the following :
            - Create a group for the company headquarters
            - each department is a profil (with blog create permission), and is a member of the headquarter group
            - The departments can post articles, events,etc... in the headquarter group
Like that articles are visible in the headqarter group, and I suppose it will also be vibiin each department profil page (I need to check this).
Question : is there a solution to make the article published in the group visible on the site general timeline ?

            Thank you
Note : I have the following message when posting on this forum :"Your current membership (Standard) doesn't allow you to 'Post links'." Consequently I cannot mention people with @ ...

            • Hello Miroslav !

You may apply the badges for the manual highlighting the parent or cold spaces. About "the site general timeline " - sorry, but now UNA relates the content of some context in this context only.
