Password Protected Portal, Wish List, Shopping Cart

I need assistance building a portal with multiple access codes that can be changed as needed. This portal will need a wish list and checkout function for group orders. After members have completed and confirmed their wish lists, the leader of the group/organization will checkout and the items will be shipped to one central location. The orders for that group will be grouped together with their access code.

What is the best way to build this? Is a custom module needed?

Yes, it will require a custom module. Possible small changes in the Groups module.

Another option is to create a ecommerce site and embed as an iframe in a block in new page. The site home page will open in full page size and can shop without leaving the site.
