Timeline comments 14.0.0-B1

Have a major issue, if I go to a persons profile, scroll down to timeline, try to comment on a timeline entry, it always fails and says I must input characters or numbers in input.

I have. It is not empty. When I click submit it fails always.

This is a major issue for timeline!

    • @Anton L disabling HTMX allowed comments again on timeline. So this is related to HTMX.

      Can you please fix this and provide the github patch so I can leave htmx enabled. This made me turn it off.

      So to be clear. With HTMX enabled, all comments on timeline on profile page fail.

      • Hello. The integration of HTMX in UNA was just started. It's experimental feature for now and therefore it may have different issues. By the way I tried to enable HTMX, went to my profile and commented different posts in Timeline. I also tried to load some profile subpage with direct link and then navigate to view profile page and post comments. It's working. May be you have some specific settings or so.

        • I understand that HTMX is experimental, I am simply reporting everything I find so it can be integrated without issues.

          I considered what you said, maybe a mod was doing something. So I disabled all profile based mods. Enabled htmx, commenting fails.

          If I switch to info, then switch back to profile, comments work the second time.

          If I disable htmx comments work.

          Therefore, logically, something is going on with htmx.

          I sent you a PM with a screenshot of some errors.

          • @Anton L I just spent 4 hours trying to get comments to work on profile page with HTMX enabled.

            1. I disabled EVERY mod on my site. Literally.
            2. Disabled Plyr because of DOM exceptions
            3. Disabled all caches

            Reloaded profile page. Comments fail. Always same message about please add some number of letters.

            If I switch from Profile to Info to Profile, comments work.

            Disable HTMX comments work.

            It is not a mod. I have no idea why yours work, but you told me e same about stripe, and well, we figured that out.

            I test extensively and with a group of hacker/modders. We find what no one else does. I can fill these pages with bugs. From oveflow-y necessities for mobile to DOM exceptions. I should be paid for my time improving your software.

            I understand experimental. I also hope you help me find the problem. Because I gave benefit of doubt and disabled ALL third party modules. The fact it will work on switch, then back to profile leads me to believe something isn't getting loaded properly on page load initial.

            If I direct in to a profile info page, then switch to profile, comments work.

            It is only when HTMX is enabled and we go straight to profile.

            • @Anton L further testing, comments on group page in timeline don't work either. Same error. Problem is something with quill editor.

              • Hello. I was able to reproduce the problem on our test site (ci.una.io). Will do further investigations there.

                • As I found out the problem disappears if HTML cache (Enable cache for HTML files) is disabled in Studio -> Settings -> Cache. Therefore I cannot see the problem on my DEV site because cache is usually disabled during development.

                      I disabled ALL caches and the problem persists. I cleared browser cache too just to make sure.

                      Only way I can get comments to work in timelines (profile, groups) is disable HTMX.

                      I will await git tracking and apply the fix and see if it works for me.
