Yes, I see the same on my site. I hope an update will be coming soon for  this.

I noticed that when I clear the cache the counter will reappear. Again, till i refresh or change pages.

Hmm.. Wonder if disabling the cache will keep them there? IDK. I just know that Notifications are the heart of any social networking site. Without them, you have no idea what is happening at the site without manually looking for it. Need to get this fixed as soon as possible.  

I couldn't agree more that notifications are very important. I really hope they can find a fix for this soon.

I had to turn off email notifications again. Got a bill from mailjet for 150 bucks. And that's just for last month. I checked this morning and it's still sending out 1000's of extra emails.

Didn't even think to check my invoice. I am glad you told me cause I was getting charged 5x more per month than usual. For now, since I run my own dedicated server and can send emails that way, I have disabled SMTP until this gets resolved.  

Yes I was going to have my mobile apps updated. Guess that will have to wait. Sucks big time!!

 I just disabled email in notifications. I thought that if I disabled SMPT it might save them and send them all at once when they are enabled again. ?????

LeonidS . Alex T⚜️ Can we please fix the notifications ASAP.... Many of us had to disable email notifications because of huge bills from our email provides. Mine was 150.00 just in the past month. Normally it's 8.95.

That report link to github is for badges and not notifications counter.   Did you post the wrong link by chance? 

Ahh OK - When I hear badges, I think of the module "badges". Those were having issues earlier too so, I was a little confused. Thank you.
