Also adding banner code to the site like advertising banners from advertising networks , do you need to get the advertising module or can you insert the code directly, is there a mud map on how to do this like this sort of code

When you add a new block on a page, I use the "skeletons". They have different functions, but in two of them you can write code. [Raw] or [HTML]
The code you usually get from the advertisement company or website.
