I can easily set it up to work with my installation. But I am just thinking maybe you guys have some best practices already.
Composer in UNA is needed if you want to run unit test, if you will not run test, then no need to run composer for UNA.
Also please don't use UNA from git for production site, it will not be upgradable, please download official release.
