skool-like "light"-community...

is there a way to create a "leightweight" template for the discussion module leaving out all the overwhelming feature stack?

if yes - can anyone point me to the right direction where i can get further into that direction?

or is there any simpler "forum" plugin for unacms?

and: is there an easy introduction where to get started for developing own modules?

thank you

    • as i'm writing this i think i should not go with "discussions" but with "feeds" ....

      • Hello @tmelchinger !

Could you please describe this "leightweight" part to get the better direction to help you.

        • Hey LeonidS,

thank you for your reply.. I'm on a good way using the timeline plugin instead of the discussion board.

On Skool you have sth. like Categories for feed posts. If i could ad them for the feed i would be good going.

At the moment i try to do a workaround by using the channel feature. But what is missing with that workaround:

the "channel tag" should be obligatory.

I also would appreciate if the "Visibility field" would just be set to public by default and wouldn't be visible. Ok that could be done using styles - but the question behind my wish is: Is it possible to customize such form fields?

          Thank you.

          • Yes, you can manage the fields of your forms via the Studio->Forms app. But the visibility fields in case you want to have only the public post then it's better to find the special blocks for that. For example, for the Timeline app it's enough to add the Post to public feed block.

          • i have managed to add label fields and a headline field to my Timeline App... but so far i didn't figure out where to adapt the template for viewing items i.e. to make the new "headline" big and being displayed above the text of the post. i'd also love to make the headline and label fields mandatory.

            Any ideas for this?

            thank you.

          • nope. i have switched to FluentCommunity - which does out of the box what i want to do ...
