Hello. Are you sure that you are testing with non-operator account? Maintenance Mode isn't applicable to such accounts. I just tried to login with common user in one browser and then enabled Maintenance Mode (lite/full) using operator account in another browser. Common user got Maintenance Mode message just after page refresh, which means that he cannot post (do anything) after the Maintenance Mode was enabled.
