Either I've misunderstood something, or there are controls missing to show featured channels within the Featured Channels block. Please help me understand:

I've got a page with both Featured Channels, and Featured Channels (showcase view) blocks and neither is showing any content. I have created a few channels, and am trying to designate one of them as Featured. But I don't see the star icon in any view. None of the following attempts give me the option to Feature a channel, or even a single post within that channel. I've looked in:

  1. Studio > Channels > Manage > ⚙ [gear/settings]
  2. UX > Channels > ⁝ [context menu] for individual posts.
  3. Studio > Page > Featured Channel blocks> Edit Block

Best/most obvious method would be option 3 where I could enter the I want that Block to show. Next best option would be option 1 where I could set the entire channel to be Featured.

Option 2 shows a choice to Promote a post. This is the only place I've seen this term. It would seem to be similar to Feature. Why the distinction? Anyway, if this context menu had the Feature option, it would change the logic from Channel-based to Post-Based. Perhaps useful if you want to feature a post regardless of the channel it appears in. But I'd still want to have the ability to Feature an entire channel.

Thoughts?

When you create a new event, the page rightfully asks for Date Start and Date End - but that data is not shown anywhere in any of the standard Event pages.

In both /events-home and /view-event-profile the start date should be shown below the Event Name. Currently, those show who is going - which is secondary (at most) to when the event is taking place. I actually don't care to see who is going - just as I don't care to show how many friends a profile has. I think I can find how to eliminate those, but I don't know how to call the Date Start and display in the Event Profile chip (or block).

I think this can be added by creating a template override for a Method in BxEventsModule.php but that's still outside of my abilities. If someone can give me an example to get started, I'll play with AI code generation to find the right solution.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but pointing it out for potential improvement.

When I upload a Profile Unit Cover, it is applied correctly when viewed in /persons-home but not applied when viewed in /view-persons-profile. See screenshots:

Secondarily, to this I would suggest that Profile Covers need to be controlled independently from Page Covers. Why? Because if I disable Page Covers (Designer>Covers) it also removes the user's ability to upload a Profile Cover. It would be very useful to have the ability to toggle those two functionalities independently.

To be clear, the inconsistency between the two views above exists regardless of whether I enable or disable Page Covers. I tested both ways.

I could use an explanation of the different "Categories" I find in FORMS.

The first is accessed via FORMS > DATA LISTS > [module] DISCUSSIONS > FORUM CATEGORIES in which I have 9 values. These appear as expected when creating a new Discussion.

The second would seem to point to the same list, but when I navigate as follows, there are no values. I navigate to FORMS > CATEGORIES > [module] DISCUSSIONS and here I find it is EMPTY. I add a Category with the very distinct name "Cats > Discussions" but I don't see it anywhere I'd expect to.

Am I right to guess that the second Category I describe above is an alternate method that was not completed or implemented by UNA devs? Or is there something I'm misunderstanding?

Hi. Is there a way to duplicate page layouts? For example: I created a Custom Page and want to use it as a template to create several more formatted like it.

Hi.

I have made an edit to my homepage using Studio > Pages > Homepage and in so doing appear to have corrupted my Administrator account in the DB. I can no longer sign in the Administrator account -though I can from other user accounts- and therefore, have lost access to Studio. [Edit: since I was using a different account to test from mobile and that worked - I incorrectly assumed the problem was user-based. In fact it appears to be desktop vs mobile.]

UNA kicked out several emails alerting me of the following error:

Mysql error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near '= `sys_profiles_conn_subscriptions`.`initiator`WHERE 1 AND `sys_profiles`.`st...' at line 1

I can post or pm more details but I suspect this is a known/recognized problem not requiring the granular, full syntax of the DB query.

This is a sandbox installation, so it's not the end of the world if I need to reinstall and start fresh - but I Have dozens of hours of work in this instance, so I'd like to know if it's recoverable.

I recently did a first-time install of v14.0 and I'm learning the CMS. Wherever I should see "Persons" (in menu or page header) I'm actually seeing:

_bx_persons_menu_item_title_entries_home

I've been pouring through the HTML files in /template/ directory and can't find it. Once I find it, I'll try to use my rudimentary HTML skills to apply a fix - I would welcome any help I can get with that too.
