To reinstall the module, follow the same procedure as with other modules. First, deactivate the module, then uninstall it. For installation, simply install it again.

Please note that if you uninstall the module, all messages will be lost. Messages are only saved when the module is deactivated.

As you have always loading icon during update, you can check the console of your browser and the server's response in order to find the errors. Also you can check /logs/ folder in the root of your site. There is should be the log file with errors during updates.
