Comment to Pricing of Apps
  • The “per year” price is a bit confusing actually - we will review it soon. In fact it’s a permanent purchase, but it includes one year of updates. It won’t go away if you don’t pay after one year. The idea way to create a funding pool for each app to accumulate and fund it’s continued development.

Now I’m thinking about potentially changing this to something like, say, $50 for initial download + 1 year updates, and then $10/year for updates if you already bought it. What do you think?

The main reason I don’t like one-time purchases is because they create dependence on selling to new buyers and no motivation to service old buyers. MLM-like situation. One-time fees are good for unchanging product. web software needs constant updates .
