Yes to create a specific profile for dating and make its visibility to be seen only by dating group.

As I see currently the visibility options for profiles are limited to anyone me friends and members only.

I dont know the situation for the spaces.

May be in the next version this can be enhanced to all visibility groups.  Then you may use it for such a scenario.

The best for you would be to use Module Org, because the fields for a profile meet are not the same as for a social profile, In fact they did exactly for this reason, can create two types of profiles with different fields. What we ask for an Org profile is not the same as for a personal profile, and it's the same thing for meeting.
For example, size is important for dating, but it will make people laugh that are there for social.
In addition you would really have two separate searches.
It depends if you use the Org module. or not.
As a second solution, you can simply create a data list linked to a "FOR" field, in your datalist, you put "Social" and "Meeting".
In search forms, simply check one or the other. The disadvantage is necessarily the same fields.
