Badges
What are #Badges and how are they configured? Is there a document on this feature?

Badges - special visual identifiers assigned by Admins. Can be used to give “verified” status or as “insignia“ of sorts that isn’t tied to membership levels. There is a simple set of actions to use: choose the necessary module then add new badges there. After those actions, the menu point "set badges" will be available in the "View entry" menu.

Let me ask this...is there any mechanism that would automatically give/assign a specific
#Badge to a member if they paid a monthly fee, or would I have to see the purchase on#PayPal and then manually assign the badge? (I realize there is a way to have Paid Membership Levels, but can we do the same thing with Badges?) -
As you noticed right - the Paid Levels is the best way to do it automatically. The Badges will require a modification to do it.
