HTTP ERROR 500 / deflate_module and Home Page

Hi Guys;

These last couple of days has been challenging, thinking I could have caused the problem.

I've integrated bootstrap html and changed some of class names since it overflowed with UNA. I have also used some of the html output from the UNA site and reference the css in my designer injection - head.

Well, I began to get the HTTP error 500 , but I also upgraded in the same time to UNA 13.1.0-RC1.

When I did a server audit from my dashboard, I noticed deflate_module was not installed, but it was according to TMDHosting.

I made a fundamental decision and re-installed UNA to the base version and only upgrade to 13.1.0-B1, hoping it will solve the problem, and this time around I kept UNA install clean.

To be very specific, I added "New Discussion" to my home page(Timeline), I downloaded and installed the Antispam, followed by Medlemmarna from the photo category, but this one did not download, even trying a second time.

The http error 500 mostly occur on the home page (Timeline)

Below a screen-dump of my last server audit :

I logged a ticket with TMDHosting first and this is what they wrote to me:

Hello,

Thank you for your patience up until now!

We have reviewed your request and would like to provide you with the following information regarding the issue.

During the further investigation of the server and website, we haven’t found any issues with the deflate module on the server, below we would like to provide you with additional confirmation that deflate_module is enabled:

# httpd -t -D DUMP_MODULES |grep deflate
 deflate_module (shared)

Considering this, the issue might be related to a visual bug from the UNA script end or any other script-end issues. Here we would like to mention that this issue does not reflect any critical issues with your websites but just indicates lower website performance. Nevertheless, we have added deflate compression rules to .htaccess file of your website using the following instructions:

https://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/HostingServerSetupRecommendations#Serversidecontentcompression

In case the deflate module was disabled, these rules would make your website fully inaccessible due to Apache error, but as we can see, your website is operational.

Additionally, In case you face any further issues with your websites, we would kindly ask you to open a new ticket, as due to the excessive number of replies in the current ticket, it became hard to trace the ticket properly.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us again if we could be of any further assistance!

Best Regards,

Daniel Marell

    • PLEASE HELP!!!! MY SITE IS DOWN WITHOUT THE HOME PAGE (TIMELINE)

I was wondering about the php version. On production I use 8.1.24 and on Dev 7.4 and I have no problems at all.

Any page that contain timeline blocks give the error.

I want to upgrade UNA, but this is exactly why I downgraded...

I know the content above is a mouth full lol....but didn't wanted to leave gabs in any analysis what so ever...

      • Hello, do you have the correct versions of the modules for your version of UNA?

        • Hey PavelS, much appreciated for your reply...

Good question though. What I did was to let TMDHosting re-install my UNA, just so I can align my steps... especially when installing any modules.

Clean UNA installation, upgrade only to 13.1.0-B1....Then I installed my modules, even check the updates to make sure.....so, I presume the correct modules should have installed. There was one module that failed to download ( Medlemmarna) and it did worry me when I began to get the errors.

Your question let me really wonder now. How do I uninstall a module. Maybe if I uninstall them one by one, I could possibly solve it this way. I activated the audit module this afternoon, but that is for internal data not backend processes.

          • You don't have to uninstall them, usually you just need to deactivate the modules and you will know which one is causing the errors.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the Medlemmarna module is, but if you can't download it and don't have it installed, it can't cause problems.

Regarding your installation and upgrade from TDM it's fine.. anyway every server and UNA has a Log.. there are a lot of answers :)

            • Hi PavelS;

Just as I wanted to reply to your theory of the module versions, we had load-shedding in South Africa (Power-outage).

Anyway, you were right....I was so happy

The "Scroll To Top Lite" is compatible only up to version 12.0.0

Why it installed is something we should consider and to be added to our knowledge base. We can spare everyone the trip help solving the mysteries or our guys must think of a version compatibility checker module.

HOW DO WE UNINSTALL A MODULE? That is what I wish to do with "Scroll To Top Lite"

              Kind Regards

              Chris

              • Well, unbelievable!!!!

PavelS took the liberty to log into my account , both cpanel and UNA site to resolve the issue for me.

Where does one really get this kind of help....I get to a point where the generosity eats me up from within.... I completely run out of words when it comes to thanking these guys. In the IT Service model looking at SLA's can we give our guys a number one rating both from a product point of view as well their pronto and excellent service to a community that even without any payments still perform above average for them.....

I begin to fall in love with them...

                • Hello @ Chris Andre Buys !

You may find the doc about module's removal here https://una.io/wiki/Studio#uninstalling

                  • Thanks LeonidS :-)

                    • I just learned something new....never really noticed the "Manage App" menu.

                      • you're welcome :) I can also help you with an update to a higher version if you want, it should go smoothly now..

                        • No, that I can do...but if I run into any problems, I will call on your number.
