Messenger - Conversation Delete Removes Messages for Both Parties
When Deleting a conversation/chat in Messenger, it deletes the conversation/chat for both parties.
There is no way for the other party to keep a record of the conversation. Is there away to preserve the conversation/chat for the paraty that did not delete it?

Honestly this shouldn’t be happening. Seems more like a bug.

Hello!
Yes, if you have membership action which allows to moderate messages, then you can completely remove messages for all participants, but if you as admin don't want to allow members to remove their messages and just hide them and only admin can remove, then you should disable this option

Thank you, it is still a little odd that the message is removed for both parties if one party deletes it. Traditionally messages work like email, if the sender deletes it, the message is still on the receivers system.
I would prefer this to be the default for messenger, as it is how WhatsApp, Viber, Signal and Telegraph work and it would mean less user education.
I do like the function to delete the messages on both sides, that could create Snapchat styled features later.

@Alexy thank you so much for adding it to the development timeline, this is great for individual messages.
For conversations, it would be awesome if the conversation did not delete when you "leave" a conversation. Some times you want to leave a conversation and keep a history of it and the other parties may not want to have the conversation deleted on their side.

Hello InPage,
By default history is not deleted when you remove participant from the talk, it may happen only when you remove the participant from the site with content.
