Only author of channel can post to feed
How can i configure a channel to only allow the author, to post on his/her channel. I want to leave the followers of the channel to make comments for each post, but only the author of their specific channel can post to his/her feed?
Thank you!

Thanks LeonidS, I have a developer on a retainer. Could you provide a bit more info on what code changes?

What I need is to check the owner of the channel and if a non-owner is viewing the channel, then hide the post block.

As I was consulted, it will not simple procedure because the channels from all users belongs to some system profile. So channel doesn't belong to one user like it is possible for other content like groups, discussions etc. So this mod will be harder then expected.

That's crazy, why did they do it like that who knows, but that might cause huge problems for the creator of that channel. That is just as important as group, etc.....
Can they maybe change it in the future?

Can or is it possible for you guys to change it so that it can be like groups...etc...?

Sorry, the channels will not be transformed so - it declines from the idea.

My understanding of channels is it operates like Twitter hashtags. I know that whoever creates the channel controls it but that seems counterproductive. Following Twitter model, no one "owns" any tags. If I post something on twitter with the hashtags
#flipflappattywhack a "channel" is created for that new word. Anyone can see it. If someone searches that hashtag my post would be the first. Anyone adding that hashtag to their tweets on twitter would show up in that channel. If you want the creator to be able to control things I suggest focusing on the Spaces Module. This has proven to be very powerful and it isn't automatically created. Someone creates it and can administer it. So if I created a "FlipFlipPattyWhack" space or group then I could control the content.
That's my experience and opinion anyways.

Looking at the URL I see /page/view-channel-profile?id=1 So is that profile?id=1 the person that created the channel? If so, then it would appear that the creator of the channel is stored and therefore, all that is needed is to simply hide the post form if the person viewing the page is not the owner.

If I can ask a question, Will, why would you want a user to be able to control the hashtag on your site? Hashtags are the equivalent to what keywords and tags have been used in CMS sites for many years.
Here's a good example why its not a good idea. As a keyword/tag/hashtag they are used for all users to quickly find relevant content related to the specific word/phrase.
If you allow one "creator" the ability to own and control it then, by design, you preclude anyone else from ever adding content to the keyword.
Imagine if I as a user was the first to create the channel/hashtag/keyword "BITCOIN" or "PEPSI" or "AMERICA" and was now the only user who could add content using that word. It doesn't make sense.
Now maybe I'm misunderstanding your intent. If you don't want anyone, except say a certain membership level, to be able to directly add posts, or edit some things, then thats simply resolved by changing the settings in the "Visible For" settings on the page block (see attached). By doing this you can let memberships like administrative or moderators manage the content without precluding your main users from creating content. Again, unless I'm missing your intended goals.

Yeah you have a good point, sometimes my brain has a "short" i started yesterday practicing the space module.

OK, I understand, inserting a hashtag creates a channel. Personally, this is a rather uh, uh, uh, .... channels will be removed then.
