I used the Photos module and noticed that hashtags (channels) can only be added in edit mode — not when uploading a photo. When I add a hashtag to a photo (in edit mode), it doesn’t show up in the channel page.
Could you please specify this part: "When I add a hashtag to a photo (in edit mode), it doesn’t show up in the channel page." From my side it works fine - did you change something with the Description field?
About the missing hashtag field in the Add Photo form - via this way you may the several photos at once so the one description for all will be not so good.

Here are the steps to reproduce:
Upload photo
Edit photo and add description with hashtag #testhashtag
Go to the current photo page and click on hashtag #testhashtag
It will go to channel #testhashtag
Channel is empty
About the missing hashtag field in the Add Photo form - via this way you may the several photos at once so the one description for all will be not so good.
its ok to use same one description to all then edit so i added a custom textarea input and copy all details from edit form (using developer module), its working fine but adding hashtag to it not creating the hashtag at all!
From my side, the photo has been placed there and was shown in the channel's feed. It works so if you have the enabled "Create Channel Auto" action for the permission level.
After a while i found out that there was an inactive (by default) block called "Search Results By Hashtag" so i activate it, then the photos were displayed by hashtag and even by labels!
what i saw before was the timeline which is still empty and its a bug.
still will like to be able to add hashtags and labels on the "add" page thru a textarea for hashtag and the selection tool for labels

Yes, I saw that. But the similar labels are fine for the set of photos but the same text in this case will not look good.
